Bad day - I got let go in a "reorganization" today. If anyone on the board knows of a company that could use a guy with 25 years of manufacturing experience, 10 of it in Purchasing, please let me know. I appreciate it. Preferably in NH or VT.
Bill Finn
Trhobbin Rods

"Reoganization" is a polite word for we are going to hire a younger guy for your job at half your wage!

Sorry to hear of your delema. Life aint fair.

Re: job hunt

Bill, you have my deepest condolences! Unfortunately, it's a sign of the times.
My bro-in-law has been out of work for 9 months, having been laid off as a chemical engineer at a large defense contactor research & development firm. He's placed over 180 resumes and has yet to find a comparable job. Right now, he's working at a minimum wage job, looking for a second to try to make ends meet. He stays tuned to the internet, applying wherever he can, and we send him the local help wanted ads every week.
We'll add you to our "pray for..." list & hope this is only temporary.
Good Luck!

Re: job hunt

If your company hires someone else younger and pay them less to do same job, do you not have the right to sue for age discrimanation? It seems like they let you go because they didn't want you to be able to draw retirement pay. Something stinks to high heaven!

Re: job hunt

Sorry Throbbinrods, I can't help you, but BrianFD, tell your bro-in-law to look around Fort Walton Beach Florida. This is where Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB are located. Eglin is where they developed the bunker busters and the MOAB. There is a lot of his line work going on around there. Best wished for all.

Thanks, SoulWinner! I'll pass that info on (can't IMAGINE that he'd want to leave the warm, sunny climate of Cleveland for a job in FL, however, hehehe).
And MY, don't know if he did, but will make that suggestion!
Thanks again, Guys!

Sorry to hear that TR. Don't really know your area too well. I think that there is a Sturm/Ruger and a Daisy BB gun plant that may need help in the New London area. Good Luck.
