you definetly know you stuff. i tried what you suggested but got nowhere i've lost the plastic washer from under the brass fitting where the needle thats attached to the float. i need to know if i got the rebuild kit would there be instructions with it. my most concern is probably the s/s valve a guy told me about 30 turns and it will come out. im guessing theres probably some rubber o-rings on this. the other concern is the little round silver plate that has to be removed, i understand this comes oval shaped. i am just concerned that if i get this kit and i mess it up i'll still be in the same boat.

Greg.... I have many of those nylon washers that you lost. The s/s needle valve does simply screw out of the carb and there are no "O" Rings involved. At the face of the carburetor there should be what is called a "RED" nylon bearing that the s/s needle valve screws through. It's a tight fit and keeps the valve from turning due to viberation.

I assume that when uou speak of the round silver plate, you're speaking of the various core plugs. It's very unlikely that you'll need to dismantle the carb to that point.

The carburetor kit OMC part number is #398453 and list for approximately $18 (possibly slightly less). If you can't locate one, and want one, I have a few left in stock. You could have one for $12 which would include shipping. You may be better off to let a pro handle that job, but the offer is there should you decide to go that route. ReevesJ32@aol.com
