Dude, I have seen many thanks for Joe.
After about 10 attempts by others to help fix my problem last season. Joe was the only one to call it right on his first attempt.I have been tinkering with Johnson Evinrudes for 20 years. This man was able to point out a single melted nylon part tucked up under the timer base via this board. Nows theres a guy who knows his stuff!
Again thanks Joe Reeves!
Steve

I think we are all very grateful to have Joe Reeves a contributing member here.

He seems to be the neurosurgeon of JohnnyRude experts and is always willing to help.

Thanks from all of us, Joe. :)

Dude,

i'm fairly new to this board (signed on last September), outboards in general and to old omc's. it was about last October that i adopted Joe as my patron Saint of omc's. it's always insightful to read his replies.

I'd like to add my appreciation to Joe for his willingness to contribute his expertise to the forum. Even as I type this, my printer is going on one of his answers to a problem. It will join the others in my OMC manuals. Thanks, Joe.

Me too. Thanks Joe for help on my questions and also lots more that I've picked up from your answers to others. You're way better than any workshop manual, both in knowledge and clarity.

Joe was correct when he said the solution for a distributor not advancing (resulting in hesitation) was a dirty bearing and not a weak spring as I had suggested.

I cleaned the bearing and the old spring worked fine.

Joe certainly knows his stuff. And he is a nice guy too!

Joe, if you read this, please look at my post on 1977 70HP speed related miss.

Thanks.

Joe is a modest guy, too.

He is a little embarrassed by all this attention and feels many other helpers are not getting a fair share of thanks.

Just one more reason to be thankful he is here.

He has asked me to delete this thread, but I'm only going to close it for now.
