For what it's worth, last night he started a song by telling a story about the last time he played up here (Portland, ME). He and the band arrived a day early to explore the area. They were out at a restaurant having dinner, and JP was reading the local newspaper containing an article about Bonnie Raitt appearing that night at the venue he would play the following night. Checking his watch, he realized that he had missed most of her show, but he quickly finished his meal and headed to the Merrill Auditorium just in time to hear her sing the song he was about to play: Angel From Montgomery. The crowd erupted and sang right along with him.I saw him about 15 years ago in Toronto. Great show...love his tunes. I was hoping one particular musical 'buddy' of his, Bonnie Raitt, was going to do a surprise guest spot...unfortunately no.

Clanton, the Nanci you're thinking of is Nanci Griffith, who is an incredible talent in her own right. They played several dates together a couple of years back.Playing some of his tunes on computer now. He did some things with a Nanci ?? Here him sometime on satallite radio.
I didn't mention that the opening act for JP last night was the daughter and son-in-law of Arlo Guthrie - another guy on my bucket list.![]()
...ol Arlo and his 'motorciiicle'...great tune. Here's another one for ya' MainExile...what about John Hiatt? I'm a huge fan of his as well particularly his 'Bring the Family' or 'Slow Turning' albums/CD's. That said, I haven't heard of him touring lately, or at least in our neck of the woods.
(that was pretty ironic about Bonnie Raitt and him in your previous response)
