just bought a 4.5hp johnson, was told was a great motor, doing some tuning up, was wondering if anyone knew the spark plug gap for it, the model # is J5RCSS...... serial # 8083785.

spark plugs are L77JC4

i think this is a good motor, just using it for trolling, on my 18 foot formula.

any info in it would be greatly appriciated, thanx

It's a 1980.

Set plug gap at .030. Be cautious when first running. If you don't have any idea of when the last pump impeller change out was done, may be a good idea to do so.
