Motor starts and runs well, but when throttle is given, motor coughs, then dies, but will start right up again, and idle for hours. Does anybody know what the problem could be?

If engine has plastic carbuator top, check plastic roller on carbuator and plastic arm on timer thats contacts roller.

Sounds like a fuel starvation issue to me...that's one possibility anyway. It's been suggested many times previously to try pumping the primer bulb when it's failing as you describe. If that helps...then fuel starvation is likely the problem. What causes fuel starvation can be many different things...from something simple like a fuel tank that's not vented properly...to a plugged carb... Once you determine if it's fuel or electrical...then let us know and we'll go from there.

Walt
