So my engine when off has 2 stroke oil running out of it. When I start it smokes very bad and will clear up after a few minutes. The oil is purple like it is straight out of can when I drained carbs they were full of about 50 50 mix oil gas like I said though when running runs well. I know what some would say convert pump but not really possible with a 48 gallon tank to mix. Any ideas on the problem because I am lost. Rebuilt carbs a few years ago. Thanks for your help

It may not be oil but a fuel leak. The fuel evaporates and leaves the oil running out the lower cowl down the lower unit. I have the same issue going on but have not figured it out yet.

As "faztbullet" sort of indicates in not so many words.... sounds like the oil tank is building up internal pressure from the heat (weather) and forcing raw oil to the carburetors etc.... change the oil cap... or loosen it when the engine's not running..
