Hello Everyone,
Well I traded my old Cheetah w/85 force and got a 93 Stratos 274DC w/Johnson 150. I do have to say what a boat! I am glad I moved up. The only complaint I have is in gear at lower RPM and idling the motor runs a bit rough. I did notice when I got the boat that the clear plastic over the pin on the top of the motor was cracked and fell off. Could this be part of my trouble? If so what can I use as a replacement? Does it need to ride on the slide just behind it?

Thanks

sounds like you may have a linkage issue, i am not sure what part you are talking about, but you probably need to replace it and do a link and sync. maybe a good carb cleaning. I just sold one of those motors, it idled like a champ, almost never cut off.

I have a 1998 150 and the roller on mine was broken also the replacement was around $10.00 you can put tape on the old one and it will last a little while. It will help the idle also it did on mine. Mine had a lag on throttle and also a rough idle .Cub48

Thanks SPARKIEBOAT & CUB48, I replaced the roller and adjusted all the linkages and now she runs like a top. It was a simple inexpensive fix. Thanks again to everyone on iboats it probably save me an expensive trip to the repair shop.
