I have a 1992 Johnson 150 that I have mounted on the boat , but I do not have a wiring harness for it.I have the controls but not the plug in harness. I need to get the boat to a shop to have a harness found and other work done, but I must be able to tilt the motor up to tow it to them...Any body know an easy way to "hot wire" the tilt/trim for a minute to tilt the motor up that won't hurt or fry anything? I thought about just hooking the battery cables up to the motor as usual and putting a jumper wire to the tilt button on the side of the motor and find the one that moves it up.. would this hurt it or should the jumper be fused as to not overload the wire..or am I just way over thinking this....

There's also a bypass valve you can open with a screw driver so that you can lift it manually

From what I have read on here the bypass valve is on the starboard side correct.... you are supposed to turn it a couple of turns to release. If you do this and tilt the motor will it hold it up if you re-tighten the screw or does it need to be braced up....Not near the motor right now but will be tomorrow....Thanks
