I have a 89 johnson 150 V6 j150stl model. We took it to the lake and it would not stay cranked. If you bring up the rpms it will stay running. So we got it in gear and started to go and it would get up to 2800 rpms and stop. So we put someone on the front of the boat and it got up to about 3100 rpm. There was one cylinder that was not getting gas to it. We thought that was the prob. but we cleaned that carb. and it started work and ran out of the water really good. We all so had ngk spark plug in it and we changed that and started running even better out of the water. So we thought we had but we take it to the lake and it does the above. Could low compression cause this to happen or do you think it is something different.
Thank you
