Ok I posted this before and I didnt get a solution that worked. I have a check system Tach for my Johnson 150 and everything works as it should except. When the Key is on the own position I have a strange noise that my wife says sounds like a wounded duck under the dash which comes from the Piezo alarm. The alarm sounds perfect when there is any issue. Its nice and loud. Over heat, Low oil level. It goes off and you can hear it very well. But when all lights are out no alarm condition the Piezo sounds like a wobbling duct. I have tried a diode on both the postive and negitive. The alarm works but the sound is still there. I tried a choke accross the postive and negitive and the sound goes away but the alarm doesnt sound either.

The good news its not too loud and the radio drowns it out at low speed and you cant here it when running on a plane. But when you launch it and idle out the marina. Yeap wounded duck under the dash.

If I unplug the tach conection. No sound. I am suspecting a bad Tach but those things are a bit expensive and everything works except for the noise. I grounded the over heat sensor and when the motor is running the alarm sounds nice and loud.

My son says to install a capacitor across the Postive and Negitive. Not sure what kind or type. Any ideas ?

I agree with the bad tach.
