flyingscott Fleet Admiral Joined Apr 8, 2014 Messages 8,229 Dec 11, 2019 #3 I don't think The standard ignition came out until 1953 and that was on the tn 28. You may have an earlier version with different coils and points. The AOMCI will be your best bet for parts.

C Crosbyman Vice Admiral Joined Nov 5, 2006 Messages 5,814 Dec 11, 2019 #6 motors previous to TN27 (TN25 and TN26) had different ignition set up see Johnson repair manual at boat info site reason I purchased a 1951.....TN27 was for that very reason (standard ignition ..easy to fix)
