I can start my boat up without any problem and run it as long as I want, but when I turn off the motor. When I go try to re-start the motor the starter clicks like it isn't getting enough voltage. I replaced the battery with a new 100 amp, and replaced the positive cable and terminal post. I am going to change the negative cable this week. I spoke with the boat shop and they recommend that I change the Rectifier? Should I change the voltage regulator or is that part of the rectifier assembly? Anyone got any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Rick

Clean all connections at the battery, solenoid, and starter. Next time out, take a voltmeter. Before starting it, check the voltage at the battery and make a note of it. When running at speed, check the voltage again. If it's the same, or lower, your rectifier probably needs replacing. The voltage should be greater than when it's stopped or at idle.
