Hello
I am writing from Mexico. Last weekend while fishing at low speed the no oil light and buzzer appear. I turn off the motor and re start it the no oil light gone but after 2 minutes at low speed the light appear again. The alarm did not activat at high speed.
I turn off the motor and check the hoses from oil injector to intake air and Gas Mix and no oil on the hoses. I check the oil return line and it has oil. Injector is ok not open circuit! there are 26 volts on injector while motor running ! This weekend I will connect lap top to see codes! unfortunatelly not outboard certified mechanics on Mexico

I will apprecita any help or comments.

i have currently exactly the same problem on my 2000 ficht ram 150... hopefully we can go thru this together and its a small thing...

i have also plenty of oil in the return line- so pump seems working. it may be the pressure switch or maybe a fault in the tank sensor. when its the injector assembly its here in germany expensive as hell.

please report your codes !

This is what
This is the homework for this weeked.

1;Verify oil pressure at oil pump between 4 to 20 psi according Manual.
2;Conect lap top to see code from not oil 34 injector or ecu 35 switch or pump.
3;check if on high speed I have oil flow thru the hoses from oil injector to intake air hoses.

Unfortunatelly I have no oil presence from injector to intake air hoses or fuel premix.

check for a blocked supply from the pump to the injector . and maybe you have truly a faulty injector -my houses out af the injector are full with oil, with no air bubbles or something like this.

Re: Johnson 1997 150HP ficht oil alarm at low speed

I already check oil flow from pump to oil injector and is ok. What I suspect is low pressure on oil pump, faulty injector or ECU wrong.

My Doubt is because I already check injector and no open circuit on coil, voltage at injector is between 26 to 27 volts.

This weekend I will check oil pump pressure to see if is ok.

I will appraciate any help.

Re: Johnson 1997 150HP ficht oil alarm at low speed

do you have the code readout already? my problem maybe is gone... after several phones with evinrude germany i got the following hints :

1-verify all oil lines are perfectly sealed without any leaks. i had the supply line minor leaky with a loose fitting and fixed it ( but dont believe this was the problem)

2-remove and shake-yes SHAKE the oil tank to see if the oil sensor in the tank is maybe stuck

3-remove and spray with contact spray the cables which regard to the oil pressure switch.

i did it totay and my problem is currently go. the engine worked without problmes for an hour, for more i did not had time.

well- currently i did not changed anything and the problem dissapeared as fast as it has come. but i must say its a stupid thing... first i have here no possibility for plugging the engine on a laptop and second - when it appeared it can appear again. i did not really found any real fault and it would be to nice to be real to believe it is premanently fixed.

in your situation i worry you have no oil at injector houses- this was never the case at me when the "no oil" warning sounded from one second to another.

lets keep updated !

Re: Johnson 1997 150HP ficht oil alarm at low speed

This weeked I will connect the computer to check fail codes.

I read manual and pressure on oil pump must be above 6 PSI constantlly. I suspect this could be the issue if not I will sent the ECU to DFI.

The only thing worry is because there is not oil at hoses from injector manifold to air intakes!

like written in my other post- my engine runs now again. i found a slight leaky supply line and checked and sparayed all oil related sensor connections. but i never had NO oil at the manifold outlet.

report what the codes say at your engine. i dont think its the ECU in your case. maybe a bad injector manifold.
