Runs up to 3200 RPM's will not plane off. After 5-10 minutes takes off up to 5000 RPM's. Have changed power pack and stator, good compression on all cylinders, idles perfectly still have same problem. Any suggestions of what else could be causing this problem. Thanks.

Why were the stator AND pack replaced? Did you do a voltage output on the primary ignition coils to test all are above 130v when running at idle? if you give the throttle a blip it should raise to over 200v. that way we know you are in good shape with the ignition.high speed and intermediate fuel is through the carbs (idle is through throttle body).. remove the air box and check to be sure all high speed jets arent plugged. sometimes you can carefully blow them out with some seafoam without taking them apart and see if that solves it. does it give you a surge of power if you bumb the primer? if so check the re-circulation line with a syringe and alcohol after it's up to running temp. Run her on a portable tank with fresh treated fuel and see if that helps.

Hi,
All carbs were taken off and cleaned and all filters replaced.I don't feel its a fuel problem because it eventually shoots up to 5000 rpms and maintains it so its getting enough fuel. Had spare stator and pack from another motor when I swapped them there was no change. Would one intermittent coil keep it from going over 3200 rpms?
