I have a 2.3hp Johnson 1990 ( HJ2RESS ). I'm trying to get the plastic prop off so I can get to the impeller under the plate behind it. I've taken the split pin out of the prop and there are two 'flats' each side of the cone on the prop where the split pin holes are. The propeller appears to be a one piece moulding. Should I pull or tap the prop off the shaft (I've tried but should I try harder) or should I lock the engine and unscrew the prop? Would putting the prop in boiling water help? The manual doesn't seem to cover thistype of propeller.
