Starts and runs and then after a while as much as an hour it bogs and won't accelerate.
Not running hot.
Good comp. no water in fuel.
Filters clean.

Any idea what the fuel pump pressure should be?

A customer called and gave me the description and asked for help??
Had a similar problem with a 1998 225EFI Mer.
The pressure regulator was bad.
Will get more info when the sun comes up?
Thanks

Need to edit and add to the last post.
The mod# j225px4sr s31024518

The motor runs good.
When they stop to fish, they shut it down and when trying to start it again it won't start unless they pump the ball again.
Then it runs ok until they stop again.

One more. How do you check the fuel pump pressure on the high pressure and low pressure systems?
I see no Schrader valve ??

Thanks

You, I hope, know that this is a Johnson branded Suzuki DF225. You can post these same questions on an appropriate Suzuki forum and get more help,
So, alot of these parts are available aftermarket from the automobile industry. You just have to dig a bit, study parts diagrams for the Suzuki auto engine that this marine version was engineered from. Suzuki parts will work perfectly well, and a good source that I use is Brownspoint dot com.
That said, I think you are on the right track regarding a fuel problem.
To measure pressure, I have a spare banjo fitting that I screw into the top of the fuel rail. The banjo fitting can be seen as a normally installed part at the bottom of the fuel rail. Without a banjo fitting, you will have to rig a suitable tee into the output line from the vapor separator (after the HP fuel filter) and attach a fuel pressure gauge. Pressure should be up at 40 psi.
Suspected parts for a low pressure problem would be 1. Failing HP fuel pump 2. Bad HP fuel pressure regulator. 3. Clogged HP fuel filter.
If i am not mistaken, cylinder compression should be around 210 psi. I dont have my books to reference, but that should get you started.
