Johnson 235hp - tuneup

Hi alll.
Since ive had this engine on the boat it seems to always run rich / smoke / smell of fuel. Ive rebuilt the cabies etc and they are not flooding its when the engine is running.

1985 Johnson 235hp
and the model is
J235TXCOR

I cant find anything anywhere that for my engine to do an engine tuneup, ive downloaded a manual or 10 and they say for mine but nothing relates and makes sense.
Can someone help me out with either what or how to do or a link to somewhere with the info.

Have you got the factory manual, it should contain a trouble tree to try and help you out.

Hi Daviet, I only have the one from the net 40hp -235hp. it really doesn't cover mine hardly and makes no sense what when it does

You need the OMC factory service manual.
