Johnson 25HP Need Help

I have a 25R78 Johnson. It idled in the tank then I took it to the lake for a test drive.I got it to start and idle with t a little difficulty. Once it idled OK I put it in gear and it trolled along. I tried to accelerate it bogged down then accelerated then bogged down. It was 100 in the sun so I didn't stay out too long. But I need some guidance. Fuel pump maybe? The bulb does not get rock hard. The indicator at the top of the fuel pump comes out but goes back in slowly. Help please.

Get yourself a ser. manual.Probably need a fuel system tune up.Unhook line to carb from pump <br />carefully check for good flow to carb.Check<br />fuel system from tank to carb.Tank vent,dip tube,<br />connections,connectors,filters,fuel pump,and<br />carb.

A soft bulb is usually either the bulb itself or air is getting into the line. Air in the line will result in what you describe. Those motors have a small black o ring in the connection to the fuel tank that should be repaced once in a while.

Thanks for the advice. I have the SENOC manual but it's hard to understand. I'll give it a try next weekend.
