Hello my 1984 Johnson 2HP runs good and pumps out nice water. I did notice that the exhaust side of the cylinder is hot to touch . My temp gun says 130 degress Fahrenheit at about idle and 170 degrees Fahrenheit about 3/4 engine speed on the exhaust side. It runs good but I never noticed this temp. The other side of the cylinder runs about 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a single cylinder engine. Does the exhaust plate run this hot??? does the water run behind the exhaust plate??? or could there be a coolant block behind the exhaust plate??? or is this normal??? thanks john
