Hello everyone
I am having problems with water not pumping around the engine (i.e. telltale is not pumping out water). I have discovered after replacing the waterpump that water gushes out near the top of the gear case. In my attempt to remove the gear case one of the bolts sheared off (without much torque applied!) In any case are there just two bolts holding on the gear case for removal? I'm guessing the drive shaft will simple pop out or is it more complicated than that? I have attached a picture to show a schematic.
Any help would be great thanks. I would prefer not to have to buy the manual at this stage :)

Re: Johnson 2hp, YR2000 gearcase removal (Model J2RTSSR)

I managed to get the gear case off, it was seized on by the broken bolt. After some hours with CRC and that sort of thing it came off. Next problem. The water is not coming out of the tell tale and is not the gear case! My next steps will be to take the pipe off the water jacket (or engine case whatever it is called) and try to blow compressed air into the the hose coming from shaft and see if it can blow out any debris.

Shame these models didn't come with a filter at the water pump stage may have prevented this issue...
