Johnson 3 HP Engine

I just acquired a Johnson 3 HP engine, Model # J3BRCEC and I need to know a few thing about it. What year is it? It hasn't been started in about 4 years and what precautions should I take in starting it for the first time since then? What oil & gas mixture should I run in it since I don't know anything about it? Any tips would be apprecitated since I would like to take my son fishing as soon as possible. Thanks to anyone who can help......

Hi Pedro<br /><br />Your motor is a 1989 model. Get rid of any old gas in the tank. Replace with fresh 50:1 mix. Supply water(run it in a garbage can etc). Might want to clean fuel filter and carb. Maybe new spark plugs. Change gear lube and replace water pump empeller. <br />These are just normal maintaince items. Good fishing.
