Johnson J30TELCUB

Pulled the carb off a friend's Johnson 30 hp and found this.

Missing it's outer tube. Anyone know what that outer tube is called or does this year not have one.

It’s called a nozzle, and should be permanently attached to carb body. Was it laying in the bowl upon disassembly?

It’s out of sight on carb schematic, due to viewing angle.. Salvage carb may be best bet.. timsoutboard.com is my go-to..

No just missing like it wasn't supposed to be there. Inner one yes....outer no. Believe it or not the little rubber gasket was in n there!

I wouldn’t think it would run like that. But if that nozzle gasket was in place, then the whole center casting (tube) would be isolated..maybe it would run..
Did it run before you pulled carb?

Yes, but it would only idle for 2 three seconds unless I primed or held my hand in front of the carb. Classic dirty carb or so I thought.

Check the Float Chamber, other half of the carb assembly.
It be gone. No stuck broken off piece in the top and nothing in the bowl. Someone removed it and that ain't easy.

Funny though, the emulsion tube and inside of it is intact. How does one do that?? Seems impossible!!!
