Hello friends,
the shift cable anchor at the lower engine cover, where the gear cable blocks up has been broken now for a second time.
It's of cast and it seems to get too easily broken from screw bending stress or switching force.
It's badly manufactured because the inner edges aren't rounded at all so there is much notch effect.
So I bother a new one will soon fail again.
I've seen an older Evinrude 30 hp the other day with a self made anchor of steel which seems a permanent solution for the problem to me.
The spare part costs about 50,- Euros here in Germany.
So it's not a piece of cake.
What's your opinion on this ?
Greetings from germany
Peter
