Hi... I have just bought a 1987 30 hp Johnson. J30ECUB.
Heres my question.. The guy i got it from took it in trade It runs like a top. But... the control and wire harness has a yellow wire which is cut. .. the control box also has the same yellow wire cut. When you start the motor you turn the key to start then touch either of the yellow wires where cut together untill it starts. What is the yellow wire? I guess I am looking at a new ignition swtich ut i dont understand why the motor will start this way.. even though the wire is also cut further down the harness.
