Model# JW18R<br />Serial# B65288<br /><br />Hi<br />A few weeks ago asked for your help in getting this outboard to run, thanks to your assistance it is now running like a dream. I was advised when I last posted to run this motor on a 24-1 fuel mixture which I have been doing, however today when on the river I got a stip torn off me by a fellow boater for using excesive oil in my fule and causing pollution.<br />My question is , with improvements having been made in 2 stroke oil over the years can I safely reduce the fule mix to say 50-1.<br />Many Thanks<br /><br />Richard

Defenitely not 50:1. Oil is the life blood for all motors you should not blindly mess with mix ratios Ive heard some folks that I respect say you can go to 32:1 but be careful not to lean the mixture screws too much.Ive heard artificial 2 stroke oil is biodegradable.Tell mister clean your motor is a 63 which puts it outside the 50:1 years. Remind mister clean he is also poluting even if he is running a 4 stroke<br />just in a smaller quantity.

Thanks Spike, I could not have a go back at him he was running an electric motor.<br />I would be interested to learn more about bio degradable oils. Has anyone got any feedback them<br /><br />Richard

RPJS<br />Do your best, mix your 24:1, keep your carb needles adjusted properly. Be curtious and senceable about refueling spills. And as for the rest, why you do have a middle finger don't you? Use it when needed.

Thanks All<br />24-1 it stays, I'm proud of my little motor ,it may not be new and enviromentaly friendly but I get the feeling that it will still be running for my grand children.<br /><br />Richard
