Hello: New Guy here - I had a 1980 Johnson 4.5hp, Model #J5RCSS with Internal tank given to me about a year ago. Previous owner knocked it over and busted the tiller handle apart. Didn't want to bother with it but said he had the carbs cleaned the year before. Compression was 90 on both cylinders and good strong spark. I hooked up a new throttle for it, checked the fuel line and tank and put it on a 14' Aluminum to try it out. Started fairly easy and ran for about 10 minutes with it at half throttle, performed great. Went to WOT and it ran great for 1 or 2 minutes then bogged down as if it was out of fuel. Repeated procedure again and same thing happened. I will clean the carbs again but was wondering if these symptoms could indicate other problems. Maybe I'm just paranoid and shouldn't have posted until I do the carb clean. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanx

I would open the carb up and check the high speed orifice and the high speed nozzel, #4 & 19, make sure they are clean and not restricted or plugged.
