do i have a SMALL BRAIN......... or did i immagine... a four stroke.... of the late 60's- Early seventies..... was a V 4 60 hp....... or is this just a new thing of lately????? :confused:

You may be thinking of the Fisher-Pierce/Homelite 55's and 85 of that era. They used a Crosley inline-4 cylinder block and were the earliest commercial 4-strokes, I believe. They were fine motors, but their high weight and cost killed 'em. I guess when gas was cheap and no emissions regs were in sight, no one appreciated the appeal. I keep looking for a good old example of one cheap. <br /> :)

yes..... i remember the "FISHER-PRICE" heheheheh my neighbor had one..... but my uncle had a JOHNSON..... was FAT.. and said SEA HORSE....... in the V logo...... said "4 CYCLE".....

Howdy Wallygator. I remember those old "fat" sea horses. What it said in the V was "4 Cyl". I got fooled by that at the time, too.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB :)
