Hi,

Two weeks ago I finally had to replace my gas tank for my 40hp Johnson Super Seahorse. I've been having issues with the new plastic tank swelling. I see that people recommend purchasing a Fuel Demand Valve. Do these actually work in decreasing the swelling in the tank? I know they'll decrease the fuel going to the motor when not in use.

I've also noticed that the motor doesn't run as smoothly as it used to. It seems like the motor isn't getting enough gas since it'll cut out at full throttle. Is this problem possibly related to the new tank? I didn't change out the gas line as there are no issues with it?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure what to do on this one besides find a way to fix the crack in my old tank lol.

The new tanks are junk, thank the epa. .

all you can really do is get a cap with a screw vent and leave it open all the time...
