Johnson 48 drive shaft

G'day yous,

me drive shaft is buggered. Me and me mate dunno what to do! She's rooted!
Somehow just above the gear housing the shaft has shered off ? have to row a few kms in the dark up the creek ! 9with ****ty paddles). Got shaft out but having trouble with the super poxy gear housing that just wont play the game. trying to get that thing free was as much fun as playing with a bucket of snakes
We wanna go fishing and tag some young game fish. We need answers quick or we're bloody well stuffed ay!?

Sorry to say that I'm somewhat at a loss to understand exactly what you need help with.

Am I to assume that you need a new driveshaft?

The mention of "having trouble with the super poxy gear housing that just wont play the game" has me baffled. You need to remember that the lingo used down under needs a little translation to us fellows up over.

When you replace the drive shaft, replace the bent gearcase.
