Johnson 5.5 hp Sea Horse 1958 cd-15

Hey guys, I've just purchased a small fishing boat with a 1958 5.5 hp Johnson Sea Horse Cd-15 and the steel pressurized gas tank came with it. I tried to take it out last night and the only way I could keep the motor running was by continuing to prime the tank about every 5 seconds otherwise it would sputter out. After about if minutes I gave up and switched to the troll motor. When I disconnected the gas/airline from the motor, fuel just poured out of both the hose and motor. The gas can seal is bad, as fuel leaks from the gasket between the can and the assembly on top. What are my steps to resolve this issue? Thank you!

Get the tank repair kit.-----Replace o-rings in the fitting on the hose.
