Hello all. Well I scored this engine cheap and I verified it ran when I picked it up. Seems to good to be true that there is nothing wrong with it. It went forward and reverse as it should.(apparently these are electric shift after further review) The fella told me he bought it from a guy who just recently replaced the head gasket prior to selling it. It has no prop and the guy I bought it from said he found a 70 hp to replace it before it was put into service. The flywheel seems to spin over by hand quite easily. Has anyone had any experiences troubleshooting power problems on this engine? Should I simply bring it somewhere to compression check it to start with do you think? Other weaknesses to verify?
