I recently bought a 60 HP Johnson seahorse (J60ecnm) and it never came with an owner's manual. Does anyone know the proper fuel to oil ratio? Also if anyone has a pdf owner's manual they would be willing to share, that would be great. Thanks.
Ive that exact motor here in New Zealand
Keep your battery connections clean and check that the fuel hoses where they T off just before the carbs are not leaking.
Replace impellor if it hasnt being done, check gear case oil (top flat screw plug, dont whatever you do remove the philips screw).
Check your overheat sensor works by grounding the tan wire where it splits near the head- keep the key on
And it then should serve you very well
Oh and they dont have a battery regulator so voltage can get very high on a long high rpm run. Ive installed a multimeter in captains seat to keep an eye on it and i flick on some electrical instruments such as lights when it gets up to 16.5 volts. Ive seen it charge up towards 18V which can boil away a battery
Prop is in decent shape, and came with an extra. Took it out with the little fuel it came with and it steers and runs very well as far as I could tell. Does anyone have recommendations for 2 stroke oil that I can readily purchase in Saskatchewan?
Depends on what stores you have up there, you should be able to buy at Canadian Tire, Walmart and if it is like it is here, even some of the grocery stores carry 2 Stroke oil for boat motors. Looks like you have a couple of Walmarts up there.
I run Pennzoil synthetic tc-w3 in my motors. Doesn't smoke a whole lot and it has never gave me any issues. I get it at Walmart for about 16 dollars a gallon
Crappy Tire stocks Mystik - that's what I use. They have a TC-W3 straight and one with stabilizer built in. The latter keeps your fuel nice and perky for next time you run it.
