Johnson 6hp impeller key issue

Hi, I have a Johnson 6hp old model (60's). I have bought a new impeller for it but as I went to changfe it I noticed that the impeller key has a groove running diagonally across it which lets the key tilt left and right. Is this normal or should it be solid as it were. Where can I get a replacement if this isn't correct. Thanks!
