Hey guys, apparently I haven't been on this site since 2011 where I received some help on an old outboard. Now I've got a new project and I know I will be needing some help and I know this is the best place to be.
My wife’s grandfather passed away a few months ago and for father’s day she bought me his old boat in order to keep it in the family. Its a 1991 sea nymph gls 195 sportfisher with a Johnson 70 outboard and Johnson 9.9.
He bought it new and used it in freshwater often until he got sick in 2011 and winterized it. It has been sitting since but I was told he did everything the manual calls for during storage.
As far as restoring the wood, carpeting and what not it doesnt need much, I’m mostly concerned with getting the engine, steering and electronics up to par.
This weekend I went to check it out before I pick it up this Saturday and I took some notes and pictures.
My first order of business is going to be testing the electronics, so far we hooked up a battery and moved the motor from vertical to trailering position and it went up no problem but I didn't get to check any other controls.
Here’s my list of what I need to do, and please let me know anything I’m missing!

Remove old gas and flush gas tank, add a few gallons of fresh premium gas at a 50:1 ratio (in case oil injection system isn't working)
Change Sparkplugs
Clean carb/rebuild
Change gearcase oil, and seals
Rebuild water pump
Grease all steering components
Lubricate all areas stated in manual
Check fuses and test electronics

If I’m missing anything important please let me know.
I will be updating when I pick the boat up and get to do some more testing and I’m hoping you guys can help me out with any hiccups I run into!
I will add pictures later when I get to my computer.
Posted this in the wrong place initially so my bad, mods.

Well, I have the same Sea Nymph but with a 90hp.
If cleaning the Carbs I would replace fuel hoses and clamps.
They are likely original and hardened.
Mine also has a added water separating fuel filter.
it has a 10 micron filter and may be a good idea.
Sounds like a good project.

Sitting for 8 years, normally the carburetors would need cleaning due to normal fouling... BUT... it's possible that in winterizing, fouling has been averted. However... keep that in mind as running a engine with a fouled carburetor results in a lean running condition that will result in piston damage etc.

At a minimum.... With all spark plugs removed, check the compression.... And check the spark with a air gap tester set to 7/16". The spark should be a sharp strong blue lightning like flame, a real SNAP!

Thanks for the responses, I stopped checking here after I didnt get a response for a few days, sorry!

So far the steering was totally seized so I managed to remove the steering arm, clean and polish the tilt tube and now it feels good as new.

I will definitely clean the carbs and be replacing fuel filter and all the fuel lines up to the carbs. New sparkplugs came today so I can put those in and toss some oil in the holes to make sure the pistons are oiled.

Electrical seems alright, I will definitely replace the bilge pump, and the aerators/ water pumps for the livewells are in shambles because he was trying to fix them at some point but thats definitely a down the road type of thing.

My plan is to remove the two rear seats and build a removable bench seat/storage type deal in the very back to open up some space and give me a nice rear fishing platform.

Well, last night I pumped out 20 gallons of old gas.

Today I filled it with 10 gallons of super, replaced the fuel bulb and lines, changed the fuel filter, cleaned the carbs, and changed the sparkplugs.

Lo and behold she runs! Starts with a quick turn of the key and idles nicely at ~700rpm, I revved her up a bit and it sounds very smooth. I took out the 1999 johnson 9.9 as well, hooked up to the gas tank and it started and ran first pull!

Gave everything a good powerwashing as well.

Next steps are changing gearcase oil and rebuilding water pump (it was pumping water well but I want to be sure its going to last).

So glad I got that done taken care of.

I will continue updating on my other thread because thats in the restoration section and I don't want to bore anyone with floor rebuilding here.

Thank you all for the help.
