Hello people, I am in Australia and I’m looking for the model of my 70 hp Seahorse Johnson motor. Problem is that there is no model tag on the port side of the transom bracket so I am trying to find out the model number by the serial, A0624243.
I have attached photos in case anyone can tell me from the motor or the Cowling. The Cowling is very faded as I’d say it’s original.

I’ve been guessing it’s about a 74 but the parts I am enquiring about don’t seem to match, so if anyone can help me with any idea of what this model is I will be extremely grateful.
Cheers
ps. I’m chasing new ignition coils and power pack

The motor is white so it can not be a 74 / 75 / 76 model.-----Judging by the trim system , powerpack and cowling I say 77 / 78 model.---Coils and powerpack should be easy to find.----Why are you looking to replace those parts.------

Thanks for the quick reply racerone.

There is no spark on 1 and 2 cylinder
Can't engage forward or reverse in the water and thought it was fuel.
Got brand new tank,Fuel lines, fuel pump and cleaned the carbies but still happened.
Checked the spark and dead on 1 and 2 ( Should have done that first )

In your mind would it be the coils or power pack or both?

1977, in 78 the Trim system had all components inside the Transom Bracket
