I do have a new question relating to **Impeller Replacement**

I have replaced impellers on other...smaller engines. On this one (Johnson 115 V4 Crossflow), I have already removed the necessary bolts as described in the Shop Manual; but am having difficulties fully dropping the Cav Plate/Prop unit from the Leg. I am guessing that to *fully drop the bottom/prop assembly* I will somehow...someway, need to release the *Shift Assembly Linkage*.

I have following the shift rod up and into the bottom cowl and see where it connects under the engine BUT, I do not see how to release this (and other potental parts) to extricate this bottom end from the Exhaust Leg.

Fortunately (I guess...?), I don't yet have the impeller kit...it should be arriving in a day or 2 thru the mail.

Please help!

Thank you SO MUCH!

There is kind of a see-saw looking thing under the carbs connecting the shift rod to the shift cable. There is a bolt that it pivots on. Remove that bolt and the see-saw disconnects from the shift rod. It's a pain but I'm a complete novice and pulled it off.

Thanks for the info...

Now, with your advise, I will give this a whirl tomorrow morning.

I am thinking about removing the Carbs first for better access...we'll have to wait and see if I waffle on that!?

Cheers!
