Re: johnson 9.5 motor loose?

there are a few rubber motor mounts they do move alot but it sounds to me that you have a few broken or missing if you look up the lower unit u should see 4 mounts 1 on each side 3 are small and i think the 1 in the rear is pretty big.if they are broken or missing you are in for a BIG job you have to split the case to replace them. do yourself a favore and get a manual just for that motor look on ebay thats where i got mine very cheap its a factory service manual just covers that engine.that are great little engines but somthings are a pain to work on if you have to replace the motor mounts do them all and to the exhust gasket also while you have it all apart.it will save you headaches later

ok great thanks for your help,
the rubber mounts are all there so i guess
its ok. i noticed there were 2 bolts missing off
the lower unit that holds it onto the motor
so i dropped the lower unit and found they were
broke off so i drilled them out and tapped them.
i.ve only had the motor for a week, and just giving it the once over..if there's any more surprise's i'll let ya know. thanks again!!

do a search on the board for decarbing it does just what it states it decarbons the engine cleaning rings, pistons, and cylinders also get all the deposits off the reeds and exhuast making compression better and extending the life of your out board.they tell you to do it every 100 hours but alot of people never even heard of it
