I have a long shaft ’75 johnson 9.9. I have replaced the water pump housing and impeller. The problem is that when im running the engine the pump is pushing water out from the small hole on the side of the pumphousing.

this makes the water fill the chamber where the shiftrod is and finally the water comes out on top of the rig extension where the shift rod goes through to the mid section.

What is the problem??

How do you know it’s pumping water from that hole if it’s put together and running? ?

Likely an " old trick " of turning it with a drill , testing before assembly !

Um, isn't that a drain hole? Um, and isn't the midsection supposed to fill up with water?

Exactly, the good ol trick with the drill. I submerge the unit so the water level is just about the same as the pump housing, and then using the drill.

I really dont believe that it should be like this

Without having a pump housing to look at, it seems to me that that hole is above the stainless impeller cup and drains off the water that escapes from the pump through the drive shaft hole. See if you agree, racer.
