Oh I think one quart will will be plenty for a few changes. I don't know the exact figure but I think they probably hold 13-16 oz. Do yourself a favor though and buy the pump.

Thanks I will. Any brand in particular that you recommend?

Nope! Just any old lower unit lube will be fine. A lot of the guys here use the super tech (I believe it is) brand from walmart with good results. Just make sure it's regular l.u. lube not the type C. That's used in electro-hydraulic shift lower units.
