I have been using an old johnson 9.9. It runs great for a half hour, then cuts. I can get it running, then it cuts again after two minutes. When it cuts, it smokes in the compartment.

My mechanic expert friend told me to see if the plugs were fouled. They looked clean, but I haven't had a chance to try new ones. (This just started happening today)

I also have a question about cooling that may relate. Should the water stream be coming out of the pee hole all of the time? Seems to me that I should be VERY concerned as soon as I lose the stream. When this engine does it's cutting out thing, I get no cooling stream on the re-start. Could cooling problems cause the engine to cut out on me?
