Johnson 90 ELUA 1997 water pump

I replaced my waterpump and now my prop is hard to spin before i install back on the boat. I've taken it apart 3 times, added dish soap to help the impeller. Any idea why the prop wont spin freely

Agreed it takes a lot more effort with a new impeller.----Did you use factory parts or something else ?

I used factory parts and just thought it was hard to turn so I took it apart again and it spins freely with no waterpump/impeller installed. So like you say it might just be the new impeller not rounded et

How old was the old impeller ? ----Did vanes have a " set " on them and were they curved ?
