Johnson 90 Need Wiring Help Please

I have a 2000, 90 horse Johnson, model #RJ90PLSSE. I'm wiring up the guages right now and I would like help sorting out my wiring harness. The bundle terminates at the console in 4 separate groups (please refer to photo)

*One has an 8 pin connecter which I've been told is for the tach/engine system check.

*There's a 2 pin connector, purple wire & white with drk blue stripe

*A 3 wire group- black, purple, white with brown stripe

*A 3 wire group gray, purple, black

There is a trim guage (see photo) that seems to match the 3 wire group that is wired- black on terminal S, purple on I, white with brown stripe on G. Another black wire is on the unmarked terminal near the light bulb. Is that right???
Questions:

1. Which wire (one of the purple ones?) do select for the guage power and light source?

2. What is the correct wire group for the trim guage? I'm guessing the group that matches but are the terminals right? Seems like black should be on G and white/brownn on S.

3. What is the 2 pin connector for?

4. What is the 3 wire group gray, purple, black for?

5. Will these need be to wired to a fused connection?
