I have a carburetor, part number 5006163 from a 9.9 Johnson, model J10RSOS. The fuel inlet fitting broke. The local repair shop told me I had to replace the entire carburetor and it is obsolete so I can't find one. When I check the schematic for the carburetor it has a part number for the fuel inlet fitting, part number 0314513. On the schematic the fuel inlet fitting is on the opposite side from my carburetor, but the part number is the same. Why do they sell a replacement part for the fitting if it can't be replaced? A link to the schematic is provided below.

I suppose it is either a matter of valuable time or lack of interest, or lack of craftsmanship, or....whatever
I'll bet I could replace that fitting with a drill and some locktite (and of course a new fitting).

Looks like you could simply drill the old one out and press in a new one.
