Johnson Evinrude coil assembly swap

have a 1978 70 hp Evinrude with a cracked head. I recently bought a 1987-89 70 hp VRO Johnson that was being used as parts motor. It's missing one coil and a power pack. Can I take the coil assembly and power pack off of my older Evinrude and put it on my newer Johnson and it actually run.
