Will a 1969 100hp johnson powerhead work on a 1965 75hp johnson lower unit?
the covers for the engines are nearly the same size, and the engines look very much alike accept for the 1965 engine has a magneto and the 1969 has electronic ignition. size wise it looks possible anyone know for sure?

Theres a list in the FAQ files that should state what works with what.
It might be called the Top Secret file.

If I remember right, I don't think they built a 100 hp in 1969. They went from 85 hp to 115 hp. Check your model #'s, it may help you out. Also the gear cases were different between those years.

boobie is correct, they do not list 100 hp in 1969, we need the model number off of your engine.

1968 was the last 100hp with non-prop hub exhaust and 4 bbl Carburetor.

Strictly from memory and a vision in my head, the powerhead may fit, but you won't get the hood on. Not reliable information.

Agreed, we need a model #. Also if I remember right, the first year of the battery CD ignition was in 1967 and it was belt driven. This was on the 100 hp model.
