Hey guys a friend of mine has a 1957 FD-11 18hp
Johnson that was his grandfathers. He wants me to help him get it running. Looking for a carb kit or do I have to buy parts individually? Thx

Oh yeah, it’s been sitting for along time. Put some oil in cylinders and gonna do compression test first thing. If that goes well then it’s the usual points, coils, condensers, impeller lower unit seal, carb, Anything else I should look for?

Sierra carb its do not include a new float. OEM kits do include a new fuel-proof float to replace the old cork float. You might want to consider this when shopping for a kit.

Iboats doesn’t go back past 1968. I tried marine engine no luck there either. I can buy parts individually.

There is not much difference between a 57 model 18 HP carburetor and a 1968 model.----Not sure of your searching abilities but a few clicks shows the same carburetor kit for a 57 and 1968 model !!

Johnson / Evinrude parts are just wonderful-----Same carburetor kit for 3 HP in 1952 and 6 hp in 1979 is listed.----Those fit the 57 to 68 model 18 HP too.
