Johnson Key in MPLS area?

I just realized I have no key for my new 1987 Johnson 50hp Vro engine does anybody know where in the Minneapolis Minnesota area I can get one, I beleive there are only 3 different keys should I just bring the whole throttle and key assembly in to the dealer or is there a serial number I can get off of it.<br /><br />Thanks Pier.

I don't know for sure. But maybe, you can check ignition switch, for a number. <br /> Call a dealer, and ask . Surely, your not the 1st, or the last, to lose / never get, a key. <br /> They should be able to head you, in the right direction.<br /> Good- Luck,<br /> KYHunter

There should be a two digit code on the outside rim of the switch itself. A dealer should have a key, for all the possible codes.

If you can't find the code, remove the switch and take it to a Johny/Rude dealer. They can try the few available keys to find the right one.
