Hello everyone. I'm still working on the restoration of the CC. I know there are several threads related to thermostats and temps but i have a question i can't seem to find a past thread to.
1998 Johnson 130 Looper 4v. New thermostats, housings, water pump, seals, etc. Engine purrs like an angry kitten. Pushes aprox 10-15 psi on the water pump at idle. Everything seems ok except the port side cylinders are running around 154-157 degrees where the starboard two cylinders are running around 144-146. boat is still not in the water - these temps are on muffs. Tell-tale is very strong. there appears to be no blockages. These readings are taken mainly at idle through 1500 rpm. im thinking these readings are ok, but wanted to run it by the professionals. I dont want to cause any potential damage with the variation in temps between the two sides. Anyone have any words of wisdom for me?

Bad thermostat (even though its new) port side?
also has new spark plugs gapped to specs.
dont remember the compression off the top of my head but all 4 were adequate.

thanks in advance

got to post the compression numbers -- "adequate" is a judgment call, and may be disagreement. The port side temp is too high (imo) -- think you need to get it in the water to test, as muffs are not good for tuning or checking cooling system.
