I have a 1975 Johnson 135.

When looking up parts my model number is 135ESL75F.

All the diagrams only show a model number of 135ESL75E.

The difference is mine has a F and the others have E. What is the difference between and E and F in the model numbers?

Also what is the difference between ESL and ETL in the model numbers?

Kemper

Re: Johnson Model Number

The model number is 135ESL75. The "E" or "F" are what I've heard production runs during that year. I've never found anybody who actually knows what they mean. It could be the month of the year they were mfg. It could be the shift that assembled it. Who knows. For your purposes, it really doesn't matter.

Best I can tell, ESL is Electric start, Special styling, Long shaft. ETL is Electric start, Tilt/trim, Long shaft
